A video involving Abena Oforiwaa, popularly known as Queenie, the partner of Ghanaian socialite Frederick Kumi, widely known as Abu Trica, has sparked fresh discussion on social media.

The footage, which has been circulating online, shows Queenie in the company of Detse, a close friend of Abu Trica. The two are seen sitting closely together and appearing to enjoy each other’s company in what looks like an indoor leisure setting. The video has since generated speculation and mixed reactions among social media users.

According to reports, Queenie has responded to the discussion, explaining that her friendship with Detse predates her relationship with Abu Trica. She reportedly said she had known Detse since 2015 and described him as one of her close friends.

Queenie has previously attracted public attention for her support of Abu Trica during his legal troubles in Ghana. She was seen at court during proceedings connected to his extradition case and had also publicly spoken about standing by him during his period in custody.

The latest controversy comes at a time when Abu Trica remains the subject of significant public interest because of his ongoing legal case in the United States.

Abu Trica was extradited from Ghana to the United States on July 9, 2026, following an order by the Accra High Court. US prosecutors have accused him of involvement in an alleged romance-fraud scheme, including conspiracy to cc  commit wire fraud and money laundering. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The latest social media controversy, however, remains centred on the video involving Queenie and Detse, with users offering different interpretations of the footage.

For now, the video has added another layer of public attention to Abu Trica’s already widely followed story, while his legal case continues in the United States.
